Meet Dr Aizman

Dr. Aizman is a visionary physician and surgeon, specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal vascular diseases, complex retinal detachment repair, macular hole surgery, and uveitis. He is nationally recognized as one of the leading retina specialists, and his pioneering research led to publications in the most prestigious ophthalmic journals. He is passionate about retina and absolutely committed to the very best outcomes for his patients.

Dr Alexander Aizman graduated from NYU School of Medicine, earning top honors in Medicine, Surgery, Neurology and Pediatrics Clerkships. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at the world famous Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital – NYU Medical Center. During his final residency year, he was selected as a Chief Resident at Bellevue Hospital. Subsequently, Dr Aizman completed a two-year fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous, Uveitis and Ocular Oncology at the Kellogg Eye Center- University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, recognized as one of the top ten retinal centers in the US.

His scientific work has appeared in leading journals including Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, and RETINA. His expertise has also been featured on CBS Evening News, NYU Doctor’s Radio (SIRIUS Channel 114), and in national print media. In 2009, he was named one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumer’s Research Council of America.
